Borneo

The third largest island in the world, Kalimantan is referred to as Borneo in Malaysia. A part of Borneo belongs to Indonesia. It is also home to the Sultanate of Brunei. The Northern part of Borneo belongs to Malaysia, which is home to two Malaysian states: Sarawak and Sabah. Rich in minerals and boasting an insanely beautiful nature, this land has long attracted explorers and adventurers.
The island either lavished them with all the goods, including gold and oil, or let 'visitors' know they were not very welcome by the forces of nature. Today, Kota Kinabalu Airport, at the capital of Sabah, is the second busiest in the country after KLIA. Thousands of people fly in here daily. Asian businessmen rush to close another deal for oil products or palm oil. Divers from all over the world stop to make their way to one of the world's best diving islands Sipadan. Beach-lovers will land in anticipation of a tranquil holiday on the quite shores of Borneo, while eco-tourism aficionados depart here for the mesmerising Mount Kinabalu, one of Malaysia's highest peaks.

With its pristine wildlife and friendly people, Sabah is a treasure trove of true tropical exotics. Where else will you get a chance to take a walk in the jungle and see real orangutans or proboscis monkeys? Watch turtles lay their eggs in the sand, or newly hatched turtles scurry out into the open sea. Think of how much fun you can have strolling down an authentic waterfront market where you can buy everything from mangoes and rattan balls for playing sepak takraw to corals and the local fishing gear. It's easy to lose a track of time here, with only the sun's movement across the sky to remind you that the days of your holiday are passing by. Sunsets in Borneo are among the most beautiful in the world. You'll have a chance to see for yourself, though, as an incredible array of colours splashes across the sky almost every evening.

We'll be delighted to help you plan an unforgettable Borneo holiday.
